Dr. William Lawrence Schoolmeester MD, MMM
Dr. Schoolmeester is a board-certified Cardiologist. He trained at Georgetown University School of Medicine. His Cardiovascular fellowship was also at Georgetown University, training in adults and children as young as 6 years old. Dr. Schoolmeester is specialized in invasive cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.
Early in Dr. Schoolmeester's career, he specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of sudden cardiac death. He was the first to implantable cardiac defibrillator in South Carolina. He also earned his Master's of Medical Management degree from Tulane University.
He pioneered the early development of non-university based clinical cardia electrophysiology practices. In addition, he founded the South Carolina Heart Center, which served as the model for multi-subspecialty cardiology practices in the southeast of the United States.
Dr. Schoolmeester was an original founding member of the "Cardiac Leadership Alliance", a national organization of the most recognized and respected cardiovascular practices in the country.
Dr. Schoolmeester founded Camden Heart Care in 2007.
